"In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps."  Proverbs 16:9

About Us:

The Grace House began in 2000, when the Director of the Grant County Jail Chaplaincy Program, Jack Brady, urged Dr. Doug Daugherty to spearhead a community effort to develop a recovery home for released criminal offenders and other addicted individuals.  Jack reported a "tremendous need" for sober and supportive housing for addicted men in Grant County.  Subsequently, a group of IWU senior Addictions Counseling majors became involved in a service-learning project that included assessment of related community needs and program development.  The results of their work highlighted the need for a recovery home in Grant County, along with many other agencies also verbalizing  the unmet need.  A Grace House board was established in 2002, forging partnerships with the Grant-Blackford County MHC, Workforce Development, Community Corrections, the Grant County Rescue Mission, and Indiana Wesleyan University.

The Grace House exists today as a non-profit organization that relies primarily upon the goodwill and donations of local churches, businesses, and individuals.

If you know of someone who could benefit from Grace House's services,  or  would like to make a donation, contact Grace House at P.O. Box 284, Marion, IN 49652, or call at (765) 674-5990.  You can email Grace House President Doug Daugherty at doug.daugherty@indwes.edu
