Globalization and Multicultural

Understanding the role that culture plays in an organization is foundational to successful leadership. With the rise of globalization there are a rapidly increasing number of organizations that deal with many cultures within their organization. A lack of understanding of the role of differing cultures will likely lead to a lack of effort in understanding how people from differing cultures process information which in turn will tend to lead to chaos.

The foundation to understanding culture is first understanding the worldview(s) of the members of the organization. Worldview is the underlying factor that assists in determining culture. This leads to the formation of a person’s values, norms and assumptions. Culture also is a key factor in how a person learns.

The Analysis Reflection paper demonstrates the author’s use of theory in helping to frame action. The work primarily speaks to establishing a model, or combination of models, that will lead to a better understanding of cultures in order to become a more effective leader.

The Seminar Reflection paper contains a blend of the author’s understanding of the need to understand culture to become a global leaders as well as the role of governance. Both are essential in global leadership. A solid and scholarly understanding of the cultures of one’s followers will also allow for better choices to be made in regards to governance.
