Organizational Theory and Research
In
order to lead organizational learning and change one must first
begin to grasp the culture of an organization. There are multiple
levels of layers within any organization: some apparent and some
hidden. A good leader must become so intimately acquainted with the
organization that he/she is bale to begin to discern the culture
below the surface as well as that which is visible.
It is vitally important that a
leader have a complete understanding of what corporate culture is,
its operation, and how it can be improved. Lack of understanding of
corporate culture may lead to negative unintended consequences.
Corporate culture influences the way people think about, and do,
their jobs.
The scholarly work submitted is a
review of the literature on key factors that increase retention of
online learners both in the Unites States and internationally. The
paper demonstrates a solid grasp of the author on the need to
understand the distinctly different culture that is online
education. The literature indicates that the culture of online
learning actually in many ways supersedes the individual culture
from which the students are identified.
The work submitted as an exhibit
showcase paper is a New Learning Paper in which this author
discusses and provides evidence of learning and implementation of an
understanding of organizational behavior and culture. The author has
devoted himself over the past month or so to the reading of several
theorists including Schein and Drucker in order to better frame his
understanding of organizational culture.
